Woods Cross Police National Night Out | Woods Cross
When: Thursday, August 6 (5:30 PM – 8:00 PM)
Where: Hogan Park / Woods Cross City Hall (1555 S 800 W, Woods Cross)
What: Kick off the weekend early with a community-focused evening. The Woods Cross Police Department is hosting their annual National Night Out, featuring safety demonstrations, emergency personnel meet-and-greets, and local youth activities.
Bountiful Summerfest International Art & Folk Festival | Bountiful
When: Friday, August 7 & Saturday, August 8 (12:00 PM – 8:00 PM)
Where: Bountiful City Park (400 North 200 West)
What: Hosted by the Bountiful Davis Arts Center, Summerfest brings the world to Davis County. Enjoy live entertainment all afternoon, plus unique hands-on cultural workshops like Lei Making and Henna art. To sign up for workshops and cost information visit BDAC’s website.
South Weber Country Fair Days (Closing Weekend) | South Weber
When: Friday, August 7 & Saturday, August 8 (Fireworks at 9:40 PM on Saturday!)
Where: Various locations, South Weber (Main Saturday events typically centered around the local parks and 2100 E) South Weber Central Park for Fireworks
What: The massive week-long community celebration concludes this weekend! Get ready for high-energy community traditions kicking off Saturday morning with the Richard Bouchard Memorial Run (10K/5K) and the Grand Parade at 10:00 AM. Stick around for the afternoon Car Show, vendor booths, and live music, all culminating in a massive fireworks show on Saturday night at 9:40 PM!

What: A celebration of everything vintage gaming! Dive into classic arcade setups, retro console free-play areas, and shop from local vendors trading in nostalgic gaming gear.

Do you enjoy eating at Aubergine Kitchen, Vessel Kitchen, or even Zupas? Kitchen 88 offers a “fine-dining plate” with fast-casual service. Their cuisine prioritizes local ingredients when possible to provide fresh and healthy food. We had a large family group at Kitchen 88 and the cool AC and plentiful tables were able to accommodate us. However, a word of caution for young families - neither restroom offered a changing table.
The food was high quality and delicious. I enjoyed my Peri-Peri chicken dish. The rice pilaf was well seasoned and the cucumbers were refreshing on a hot summer day. The Cobb Salad was huge! We also ended up with a variety of kids meals at the table, of the options it looked like the grilled cheese was favored by most. When it comes to value I don’t really see Zupas, Vessel, or Kitchen 88 as a great budget option. If you are looking for fresh healthy food you can’t go wrong at Kitchen 88. My special highlight of the experience was a Vanilla Rosemary Lemonade, I have never had that flavor combination and it was quite quenching and unique!

The menu is very diverse. If you pick something you are familiar with you can expect it to be represented in a more fresh and healthy way. I would recommend picking one of their sandwiches cutting it in half and splitting an entree with someone willing to share. Make sure to try their unique lemonades.
